Super Nova
Two Act Comedy - 2m 2w - Single Set
An explosion is imminent.
Synopsis
Frankie Messenger finds himself kidnapped; thrown into the trunk of his car with duct tape around his wrists and a bag over his head. When the bag comes off he is surprised to be in a swanky hotel room. He is even more surprised to find the room belongs to Star, a mega-selling singing sensation, also known as Katie when they were both in high school.
Star has been living a charmed life but it's not all it's cracked up to be. She feels like the candle is burning at both ends and an explosion is immanent. She's had it with the superstar life and has a plan to get out - permanently. It's drastic, daring and completely insane. Star wants to share this with Frankie and only Frankie - even though it's been seven years since they've been in the same room and she had to kidnap him to get him in the room in the first place.
Star's had many conversations about this meeting in her head and they all turn out for the best. Of course, real life doesn't always work out for the best. She's got a Shakespeare quoting body guard to deal with and an assistant racing toward a nervous breakdown. On top of that as soon as Frankie finds out the plan, he's willing to do anything to stop her. Star's luck is about to run out.
